I have been photographing Sandra’s family for quite a few years and we have become friends. What I love about her (besides her red hair!) is how dedicated she is to eating healthy and taking care of her body. She has a wonderful business helping others learn more about becoming healthy, and I enjoyed spending time learning about it, and tagging along with a client shopping trip. I am excited to share our interview here on the blog.

TM: What is the name of your business?

Sandra Brougher, Renew Whole Health (just changed my name to reflect my website)

TM: Tell me a little about what you do. Describe your business.

I am a Nutritional Health and Wellness Coach. I work with people helping them make “healthy the new normal” in their health and diet lifestyle. I work with clients who have a wide range of issues. Whether it is weight loss, diabetes, gluten sensitivities, leaky gut, food allergies, ADD, Chron’s or other auto immune diseases, I examine a clients dietary habits and develop a protocol to aid in healing.

TM: Tell me about the beginning. What inspired your business?

Having a child who has mental health issues and is recovering from an eating disorder, it became my mission to heal her and do the best I could for her. This led me into the field of holistic nutrition where the idea that food is our medicine and what we eat has a total affect on our bodies.

TM: How long have you been involved in this industry? 1 1/2 yrs.

TM: What unique quality sets your business apart in your industry?

As a holistic coach, I look at the whole picture not just the one symptom. I delve deep into the clients system to find out what is not working and why. We work together exploring their entire environment to see what may be obstacles in their way to perfect health.

TM: What is the best piece of advice you can give to someone starting on this journey of finding whole health?

Changing their mindset from wanting to lose weight to wanting to get healthy.

TM: What inspires you? My husband and children and watching my clients make healthy changes in their lives.

TM: How do you keep things fresh and exciting?

I am always reading and exploring the latest books, blogs, lectures and I try to keep my blog interesting and fun.

TM: What 3 words best describe your business? Rewarding, healthy, life changing

TM: What would you do with a free afternoon, if you could do something just for you?

Go to a spa and get a complete head to toe treatment done.

TM: What is your favorite part of your job?

Working with my clients and getting to know them.

TM: Any fun facts that you’d like to share?

Your small intestine (a crucial part of your health) is 23 feet long.

Austin Texas Child Photographer | Giving Back

Ever wonder how we got so lucky? I mean, in this country, we are so blessed. So many things we just take for granted, like clean water, fresh food, a bed to sleep in. As a mother, I am constantly trying to make sure my children have all that they need, and most of what they want. But I’ve been searching for ways to help instill the lesson of “be thankful for what you have.”

Last fall I learned about a charity started by a couple of my photography friends and mentors, Travis Gugelman and Lori Nordstrom. It is called dando amor, which means “giving love.” Like many things that cross my desk/email in the “busy season,” I spent a few minutes reading the posts of the people participating, made an online donation, and planned to bookmark it for later, when I’m not so busy. But reading the blog posts, I found myself with tears streaming down my cheeks. Reading about these kids who have, literally, nothing, yet are still smiling, still going on, and loving. Amidst my “busy season” it really stopped me in my tracks. I had to help, somehow.

With that thought in mind, and the holiday of “LOVE” upon us, I’m excited to announce the ”Give Love * Get Love” promotion. Georgetown TX Senior Photographer | Carter GHS ’12

I had the pleasure of working with Carter for his senior portraits. He is the quarterback for Georgetown High and such a neat kid. He was the picture of politeness (thank you to his mama, I’m sure!) and just so easy to photograph. He is a Red Raider fan and a super handsome cowboy.

Since all sports players are used to having the “typical” sport pics, we did something fun and creative as a spread in Carter’s senior book.
