Georgetown TX Photographer | Blog Carousel – Alternative Cameras

It’s that time again where I join forces with some of the most fabulous photographers around the world and get creative with a theme. This month’s theme is Alternative Cameras.  While I was pondering what to do (and, as usual, running out of time) I decided to use an iphone photo, taken with the Hipstamatic app. I do have to chuckle that the iPhone being considered an “alternative” camera, when these days, for many people it is their “go to” camera. Small, always with you, and a not-too-shabby image quality make this camera not SO alternative anymore!

My image was taken last year, when our Texas winter (all 3 days or so of it) was in full swing. I loved the ice crystals on the windshield of my car, and (of course) the only camera I had handy was my phone. I chose this image not only because I really like it, but also because we have had a run of 70-80 degree days, and I’m kind of pining for a snow day!! A little winter would be nice:)

Teri this is beautiful. I love the colors and I love how I can even see the details in the snowflakes. Technology sure has come a long way!

I agree – its weird to call the iphone alternative (but I do LOL). This is a gorgeous frosty image and the colour is amazing. I love that app as well on my iphone.

BEAUTIFUL capture, T. I love the surreal aspect of this image. I had to pause for a few moments to really look to see if my eyes were seeing this right. LOVE that.

Teri, this is beautiful! I love the gradation of the colors in the sky and the icy factor. You are so right about the iphone being the go-to camera for so many of us lately, it goes everywhere with me too!
